Philanthropy
Throughout the course of the year, our sisters participate in and support various local and national philanthropic activities.
The Xi Lambda Chapter partners with the Speech and Hearing Center of Northern California every Spring semester to host an annual Teeter-Totter-A-Thon. During the course of this event, sisters take shifts to teeter totter on sea-saws in Harney Plaza for 48 hours. The chapter hosts a campus barbecue, concerts and a raffle during the Teeter-Totter-A-Thon. Proceeds are donated to the Speech and Hearing Center of Northern California.
Every Fall semester, Xi Lambda hosts Ali’s Way as a tribute to our late sister, Ali Facella, who lost her struggle with Leukemia in 2006. The event brings awareness to Leukemia and Lymphoma cancers and proceeds are donated to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. For more information: http://www.deltazetausf.com/ali
Additional local events that the Xi Lambda Chapter participates in include the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Walk, Golden Gate Park and Beach Clean Ups, and the "Not for Sale" Campaign.
